GOOD SAMARITAN PROGRAM
Leader: Diane Cooper
Mission: Answering the call of Jesus to “love one another”, gathering strength from the Eucharist, and guided by the Holy Spirit, our community shares its time, talents, and treasures serving those in need. We open the door to the knock of the unborn, the bereaved, the sick, the jobless, the homeless, and the hopeless. We welcome all and we embrace the unique giftedness of each individual and what they bring to our community.
“Good Sams: is a social service ministry. Through the Church, our community serves the needs of the poor among us. We offer financial assistance, direction, education, and training opportunities.
Our annual “School Supply Program” provides necessary school supplies and uniforms for children of needy families. Our “Thanksgiving and Christmas” programs provide food baskets and gifts for the young and elderly through our “Adopt an Angel” program. Good Sams works in cooperation with other churches and government agencies in the Covington/Mandeville area that also serve the poor. Volunteers are needed year round for this vital community resource.
BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE
Leader: Marilyn Schoen
Mission: To serve as a resource for families in the Most Holy Trinity community who are suffering because of the death of a loved one. Our ministry provides immediate comfort, emotional support, and other assistance as needed. Continued support is provided through phone calls and Masses.
We realize that those who have the opportunity to volunteer give a great gift of themselves to our parish. If you would like to volunteer for this ministry please contact the church office.
MARTHA MINISTRY
Coordinator: Molly Lombardi
Mission: This outreach ministry provides an opportunity to answer Christ’s call to “serve one another.”
Martha Ministry volunteers prepare and deliver meals, at their own expense, to individuals or families where there is serious illness, debilitating surgical recovery, or to those undergoing chemotherapy.
MULTI-CULTURAL COMMITTEE
Coordinator: TBA
Mission: This ministry strives to bring love, understanding, and unity among all. As part of the Body of Christ, we strive to bring to light the universality of our faith by celebrating the diversity and richness brought about by the different cultures to our Catholic faith centered in the Eucharist.
Our mission is to imitate Jesus, so that his light may shine through us, so that others may see his love and his goodness reflected in us, so that others may see his love and his goodness reflected in us.
The Multi-Cultural Committee is made up of parishioners of many different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The committee plans liturgies that bring various traditions of worship and prayer from other countries to our celebrations.
Members of the committee make special occasions such as Easter, Christmas, etc., even more special by serving as Lectors at some Masses and reading in their native tongue. They also plan social events, which include food, music, and customs of foreign countries, so that all in our parish community can enjoy their unique cultural traditions. Meetings are held monthly and begin with a recitation of the rosary in various languages. If you would like to share the cultural gifts of your family with our community, call the office.
